WEEKLY GROWTH PLAN — “ Disciple/Shift “Identity Theft”
– A Surrendered Heart”

  • MONDAY

    Who Am I Really?

    Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:17
Focus: Our True Identity in Christ
Devotional Thought: Identity theft begins when we forget who we are in Christ. Paul reminds us that in Jesus, we are not improved versions of our old selves — we are new creations. The old identity is gone. The new identity is given. But new identity always leads to new direction. Jesus didn’t save us to leave us where we were — He saved us to form us into disciples.
Reflection: Where do you still define yourself by your past instead of your new identity in Christ? Prayer
Prayer: “Lord, remind me today that I am a new creation. Help me live from who You say I am.”

    Identity That Follows

    Scripture: John 8:31
    Focus: Identity as a Disciple
Devotional Thought: Jesus didn't say, “If you believe in Me, you are My disciples.” He said, “If you abide in My word.” Abiding is relationship language — staying close, remaining connected, living in His truth. A disciple is someone whose identity is shaped by following, not just believing.
Reflection: What does abiding look like for you today? Where is Jesus inviting you to stay closer? (Vertical line divider)
Prayer: “Jesus, draw me into Your Word today. Shape my identity as Your disciple.”

    Leaving the Table

    Scripture: Luke 5:27–28
    Focus: A Surrendered Life
Devotional Thought: Matthew didn’t follow Jesus because it fit his plans — he surrendered his plans because he met Jesus. He walked away from the table where he made his money, his security, and his future. Discipleship always involves a moment where Jesus says, “Follow Me,” and we must decide whether we will cling to our plans or trust His.
Reflection:What “table” is Jesus asking you to leave behind? Comfort? Control? A habit? A plan?
Prayer: “Lord, give me courage to leave anything that keeps me from following You fully.”

    Losing to Find

    Scripture: Matthew 16:25
Focus: The Cost and Reward of Surrender
Devotional Thought: Jesus flips the logic of the world: Trying to save your life leads to losing it. Laying down your life leads to finding it. Matthew discovered this — the life he found in Jesus was far greater than the life he left behind.
Reflection: Where are you trying to “save your life” instead of surrendering it?
Prayer: “Jesus, help me trust that whatever I lose for You, I will find something better in You.”

    Renouncing the Rival

    Scripture: Luke 14:33 & Matthew 6:24
Focus: Jesus First, Everything Else Second
Devotional Thought: Jesus isn’t asking for poverty — He’s asking for priority. You cannot serve two masters. Matthew couldn’t serve money and Jesus. Neither can we. Discipleship is not about giving Jesus a place in your life — it’s about giving Him first place.
Reflection: What competes with Jesus for first place in your heart?
Prayer: “Lord, I renounce every rival to Your leadership in my life. Be first in everything.”

    Love That Follows

    Scripture: John 14:15; John 14:21; Luke 10:38-42
    Focus: Deep Discipleship Love
Devotional Thought: Jesus never said, “If you fear Me, obey Me.” He said, “If you love Me…” Mary of Bethany shows us the heart of a disciple — she chose presence over pressure, devotion over distraction. Obedience is not the burden of a disciple — it’s the overflow of a heart in love with Jesus.
Reflection: Is your obedience flowing from love or obligation? Where is Jesus inviting you to sit at His feet again?
Prayer: “Jesus, deepen my love for You. Let my obedience be the fruit of affection, not duty.”
